♥ About Me

I'm going to be a translator one day:

Je parle très beaucoup de français.
Hablo un poco Español.
Ich spreche
ein bisschen Deutsch.
Puhun vähän Suomea.
Jeg taler lidt Dansk.

I also read the Russian and Greek scripts,
but don't understand them very well!

Languages are my life. I am nothing without them.

For the most part, I'm not the girl you see in the photographs. Just because I look sweet and innocent in photographs doesn't mean I don't have two Martial Arts and some Army Cadet training! I wear glasses, I have trouble with my left ear, and I have a slight Devonshire accent. Thankfully I've got rid of my limp now! Oh, and I'm quite small! I also suffer from terrible migraines.

I wanted to be a translator in the British Army. Then I became a little ill, and can't even risk driving, fairgrounds or shooting at the moment. So, I've chosen to aim for the United Nations, in Finland! How hard can it be? (Famous last words, I know this one!)

I can come across as prudish, or like a nerd, but don't judge a book by its cover! Call it a juxtaposition if you will, but I collect Hello Kitty, vintage style dresses, and cacti. I love dinosaurs, but who doesn't? Don't talk to me about cheese, it's pure evil. RAWR.

I am without a religion, but I am tolerant to them all: everyone is unique. Just because I am open about my sexuality doesn't mean I'm going to run round the town with rainbow flags. I do however attend Pride. I can be quite political, and will argue you down if I feel it's worth my time and effort. That I do promise.

I get stressy easily, and rely on my wonderful, and somewhat peculiar selection of music to calm me down. My favourite genre at the moment has to be Rock Opera/Symphonic Metal, especially the female-fronted bands! Oh, and I listen to all sorts of random foreign stuff I find on foreign radio stations! I'm also stuck in the world of the 80's music a lot of the time too! God forbid- I've found my Pop Party CDs as well!

I'm taking a German GCSE in two months. A month in, and I discover that all the sentence structures I was taught are completely useless. So, I think I'll hold my head high and get on with it, try to pass best I can!

In September, I'll be returning to my former secondary school, Sidmouth College, to take my AS Levels. Then it's on to Exeter College again, to do my A2 Levels. I will get to university.

To pass the time hiding from my German, when it's finally starved my brain of freedom, I've taken up knitting and playing the guitar! You can follow my guitar progress, and added rants, with my new 'Ranting With My Guitar' sessions! When I need to delve into some light translation, I've been playing Zelda: Majora's Mask in German. So I can learn useful vocabulary like 'sword', 'shield', 'attack' and 'arrows'. As if these words will ever help me pass my GCSE! So wish me luck dear followers: I can tell this is going to be one hell of a bumpy ride!

Oh, and there's a reason my nickname at cadets used to be
