I got the new Adam Ant album, Adam And And The BlueBlack Hussar In Marrying The Gunners Daughter, for my birthday! And of course, I think that the album deserves a review all of its own! Especially considering it has a 'Parental Advisory' tag! I love the album cover!
So far, I'd only heard Cool Zombie, which was very different, and I wasn't sure about it at first, but it grew on me! As I listened through the album, I realised it was quite different to a lot of the more poppy stuff he is best known for. Marring The Gunner's Daughter and Vince Taylor were definitely very good, and I enjoyed them very much, along with the whole album!
The booklet contains lots of awesome photos of Adam Ant, with smaller pages in between for the lyrics! The title of this post is actually the first line to the track 'Cradle Of Hatred', and I thought it was one of the most fantastic introduction lines to a song ever!
All in all, the album is closer to his older works, such as Dirk Wears White Sox and Kings Of the Wild Frontier, but is actually very good! Definitely a must-get, and a fantastic birthday present!
Hello! I'm eighteen, I live in England, and I'm a vegetarian. No matter how hard I try, my life never seems to run smoothly! My life consists mainly of craziness, languages and music, and I want to be a translator one day. I had my education back on track, until I found out I was expecting my first child. Life really likes messing me about a lot. Well, let's see what happens then...
