Okay, so I've been Googling for the possibility that I can get rid of my annoying diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome, but without luck. They seem to make no allowances for the misdiagnosed OR those that are too aware to fit in the awareness criteria. I don't want to be labelled. Okay, I'm different, I have my quirkynesses, but just because you don't understand how I work is no excuse for sticking some stupid label on me for money, sympathy or just to stick me in a fucking box. I'm not denying that Asperger's or Autism doesn't exist, but seriously, I think people just like to label the unknown sometimes. I was never asked, I was never told what was going on, all I knew was that I had to go see strange psychologist men sometimes. I don't like the idea of any of it. It doesn't apply to me. they estimate that half the population fits one of the criteria for Asperger's, without having it, so why must I have it? I've been ticking off the criteria list for all the Asperger's-like things I do, and someone with Asperger's would not be able to change those factors like I have. There is no way I have Asperger's. Unfortunately, the label they stuck me with apparently has permenant super glue on the back of it, so i fear I'll have to take this to court or further to get rid of it. These strange psychologists just can't wait to slap labels on people willy-nilly, and because they're suspected of something, they're not 'mentally aware enough' to have an opinion on the matter. This is a breach of human rights. Or at least free speech. If the person is aware enough to ask 'Why?' or 'Why do you do this to me Mummy?', then they are aware enough to have a say in the matter, even if they're under 16. But do I see awareness tests for those diagnosed with these labels? Oh no, no way! As long as the parents get sympathy, and the psychologists tick enough 'diagnosed' boxes, the world seems happy. And what happens to the ones that aren't happy with the diagnosis, what happens? They have the diagnosis, so people think they're 'mentally incapable of awareness', so are never listened to or believed. If this is the only thing I do with my life, I will make sure that the person being observed gets a say in the matter. And I want my label gone. If it means court, then that's what it'll be. You watch me.
